don’t have to stick to your Butt!

Red bell peppers shaped into hearts make a darling healthy Valentine snack.  Who says that Valentine snacks need to be loaded with sugar, fat, and high-fructose (public enemy number 1) corn syrup?  They don’t, they really, really don’t.  (Daughter’s first grade teacher says it’s a no-no to use a repeated word, but this needed two reallys, really).  Have you ever seen a healthy Valentine snack?  I haven’t.  And to be honest with you, it makes me angry.  Cause I’m off sugar people, and everyone else should be off sugar too, because pinterest taunts me with valentine snacks and treats.

I hereby declare war on sugary Valentine Treats

*asterisk* although I will be posting a valentine idea that includes a very unhealthy boxed baked good, but just know, I won’t be eating it.  Two sides of my mouth–I’m talking from both of them, I know.

My kids think veggies taste better when

This one is true, no asterisk.  I don’t know why this is.  Maybe because we eat with our eyes before our mouths??  I’ll have to ask my brother child-psychiatrist this question some day.  Anyhoo.  Red bell peppers are RED, that is, NATURAL red.  Not the artificial red that some circles believe contribute to hyperactivity in children.  This is Mother-Earth-Painted fresh stuff from the ground.  So here is how you make your healthy Valentine snack.

You may say, Hey, that’s a huge waste of Red Bell Peppers!  I’m not doing that!  And to that I say, eat the scraps–throw the scraps on a salad.  OR, STUFF THEM IN YOUR FACE, They’re HEALTHY EVERYONE!!
